Associazione Calcio Milan, more commonly referred to as AC Milan is a football club based in Italy, in Milan to be precise.In the recent past, in 2006 they were involved in a match fixing scandal, but finally they did manage to win the UEFA Champions league competition.In Football circles AC Milan is popularly known as Milan.
The club was officially established in Milan on December 16th in the year 1989. It was founded by an expatriate British man called Alfred Edwards as a Cricket Club.Since then it has gone to become one of the most famous and popular football clubs in the world. In the recent years AC Milan has won the prestigious UEFA Champions League seven times, the World Club crown 3 times, the European Super Cup four times and the Cup Winners Cup twice.It has gone on to become the greatest team of all time in club football.
AC Milan team players play their home games in shirts of Red and Black stripes, which has given them the nickname "Rossoneri" meaning "Red Blacks".
